Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took the reins of Saturday Night Live for a hosting gig this weekend, earning the show its highest ratings in years – and a few of its worst reviews.
The camera panned to Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David: “I heard if I yelled that they’d give me $5, 000”.

Last week, the group released a statement claiming that they would give $5, 000 to anyone who would shout out “Trump’s a racist” during the live sketch show. Love him or hate him there is one certitude that the ever controversial Donald Trump yields and that’s TV ratings.
The show deteriorated after that with a bit about Trump’s famous self-praise and critical comments of others via his Twitter account. Entertainment Week reported the GOP presidential candidate’s guest host appearance pulled down a 6.6 household rating, reflecting a viewership almost 50 percent greater than that of an episode earlier in the season featuring Hillary Clinton and Miley Cyrus. Those are the best ratings for an episode of Saturday Night Live since January 2012, when Charles Barkley hosted the show with musical guest Kelly Clarkson.
