After 14 years at Lanvin, Israeli creative director Alber Elbaz is reportedly leaving the company. No official announcement has been made by now. Disagreements with the company’s owner and executive officer have been listed as a reason for his departure.
WWD first reported the news Wednesday morning. According to WWD Elbaz told his design team about his leaving the company only this morning.

The news of Elbaz’s exit comes less than a week after Raf Simons announced he was leaving Dior. Speculations in the industry talking now about the possibility that Elbaz could take his place.
The designer joined Lanvin in 2001. He will be remembered for launching the world’s oldest fashion house its first menswear collection in 2006.
Elbaz presented his photo exhibition called “Alber Elbaz/Lanvin: Manifeste” during Paris Fashion Week. He was listed as one of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Top 25 Red Carpet Designers of 2015.
Among many celebrities who wore his creations on the red carpet are Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Allison Williams Pharrell, Jared Leto, Jessica Chastain and others.
“I know it is important if someone is wearing your dress, your shoes and jewelry, ” Elbaz told THR, “If you’re hot, they buy you, and if they buy you, the company is doing well. The question is how to make it more personal. By loving the actresses and respecting them, it makes it all the more easy.”
