Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu recently raised the possibility of canceling the residency status of some of the 80, 000 Palestinians who reside in East Jerusalem neighborhoods beyond the controversial separation barrier, sources in the prime minister’s bureau have said.
The report came amid a wave of terror attacks against Israelis and clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. In the latest incident, a Palestinian man stabbed and seriously wounded an Israeli in the southern West Bank before being shot dead, the army said on Monday morning.
