The jury is in place, and Monday the opening statements begin in the trial of Frazier Cross. The panel of nine men and eight women will be randomly narrowed to 12 jurors and five alternates after closing arguments. They were selected from a pool of 200 in a week-long jury-selection process. All of the victims were Christians.
Cross, who uses a wheelchair to get around, suffers from chronic emphysema and has oxygen tanks nearby during court proceedings. “‘How many goddamn Jews did I kill?’ These are words captured on video as the defendant sat in the backseat of an Overland Park police vehicle minutes after he killed three people”.
