Showtime channel announced that it will not move ahead with a second season of Shalom Auslander’s series.
Happyish starred Coogan as a middle-aged advertising executive increasingly befuddled by the fast pace of his industry and his home life.
The cancellation comes a month after the series ended its 10-episode first season. This marks an infrequent case of a Showtime original series lasting only one season.

The series originally been conceived by Auslander as a starring vehicle for Philip Seymour Hoffman back in 2011. The show was dealt a major blow when Hoffman suddenly died just weeks after the pilot was picked up to series in January 2014.
Steve Coogan stepped into the show’s leading role.
Happyish finally made its US television debut on Showtime in April, nearly four years after it was initially pitched, but received mediocre reviews. The comedy also failed to garner any Emmy nominations unlike some of the Showtime’s other low-rated series such as Matt LeBlanc’s “Episodes” and “Nurse Jackie.”
