Orchid Security, an Israeli startup and rising innovator in identity-first security orchestration, announced a $36 million seed funding round today. The investment was co-led by Team8 and Intel Capital, with participation from CapitalOne and prominent industry figures including Jeff Williams (FireEye, Cisco, McAfee), Dror Davidoff (Aqua), and Zohar Alon (Dome9, Check Point).

This significant funding will fuel Orchid’s pioneering use of Large Language Models (LLMs) to solve the complex problem of managing disparate identity systems within large organizations. The capital will enable Orchid to accelerate platform development, expand its sales, support, and marketing teams, and further its market reach.

Orchid already partners with leading global enterprises across diverse sectors including finance, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail, counting Fortune 500 companies like Costco and Repsol among its customers.

Orchid Security is an advanced identity security platform powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), designed to unify and protect complex identity environments within enterprises. Founded by AI and cybersecurity experts Roy Katmor, Robert Weisman, and Ido Kelson, and supported by Intel Capital and Team8, Orchid provides organizations with comprehensive visibility, streamlined management, and automated, risk-based identity governance for both on-premises and cloud applications.

The platform enables enterprises to lower costs and ensure compliance across their digital ecosystems by continuously identifying self-hosted and SaaS applications, evaluating their native identity controls and vulnerabilities, and addressing compliance gaps and cyber risks. All of this is achieved through a centralized control point, eliminating the need for extensive effort or application recoding.

“The latest LLM models include code recognition and reasoning skills that enable understanding of identity flows in running applications without requiring code access or input from the application owners. When prompted correctly, these models go beyond data processing —they comprehend context, make inferences, and deliver accurate decisions. They also provide clear justifications, ensuring the platform’s logic remains coherent and transparent.” said Roy Katmor, Co-Founder and CEO of Orchid Security. “With advancements in AI and LLM technology, we can now offer a solution that automatically assesses identity capabilities and exposures -considering target regulations, frameworks, and security best practices—offers remediations, and helps organizations elevate and ensure consistency of their identity security posture, all while significantly reducing cost and time.”
