Goldman Sachs Forecasts Israeli Shekel at 3.6 per US Dollar Within 12 Months
Goldman Sachs, one of the world’s powerhouses of banking and investment, shocked the money markets on Monday by predicting that the New Israel Shekel (NIS) would rebound and settle at an exchange rate of at least 3.6 Shekels to one US dollar within one year. In a report made by Israel’s daily business publication Globes, the paper stated that Goldman Sachs asserted that this is because Israel’s macroeconomic fundamentals remain strong; however, geopolitical risk will continue to be the main driver of the shekel.

20 Major Airlines Demand Financial Guarantees from Israel Before Resuming Flights
A coalition of twenty international airlines has issued an ultimatum to the Israeli government, demanding immediate action to regulate flight cancellation and overnight stay compensation, and to shield them from excessive legal liability. Failure to comply, they warn, could result in ceasing their operations in Israel. Israel’s Calcalist reported that the foreign carriers sent a letter to the Knesset Economics Committee on the matter.

Israel Orders 25 F-15EX Fighter Jets from Boeing in $5.2B Defense Deal
The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) signed what it called a landmark transaction to acquire the next generation of F-15 fighter jets – the F-15IA – from the United Sates. Israel is purchasing 25 of the advanced aircraft from Boeing for $5.2 billion.

France Appeals Court Decision to Allow Israeli Defense Companies at Military Trade Shows”
The French government is appealing a court ruling that overturned its ban on Israeli defense firms from participating in arms shows in the country. If the government succeeds in its efforts, Israeli firms will be barred from participating in the Paris Air Show in June.
In October, French President Emmanuel Macron barred twelve Israeli defense companies from exhibiting at the prestigious Euronaval defense exhibition, which was held from November 4-7. Extell Development CEO Gary Barnett Progresses with Significant Jerusalem Real Estate Venture
Gary Barnett, the American real estate developer and founder of Extell Development Company, is moving forward with his plans to develop sections of land in central Jerusalem that he acquired from the Greek Orthodox Church. The city of Jerusalem attempted to block the sale of the land because of all of the homes already there, but Israeli courts ruled against it.
