Spines is an Israeli startup that offers a single platform to help any author proofread, cover design, format, print, and distribute over global channels. The firm raised $16 million in a Series A funding round led by Zeev Ventures, with participation from existing investors Aleph, M-Fund and LionTree.
Basically, Spines allows authors to “self-publish” their own works, even if they have no tech skills at all. Self-publishing is a process where an author independently publishes their work, bypassing traditional publishing houses. It offers greater control, flexibility, and potential for higher royalties.
