Qodo (formerly CodiumAI), the generative AI code integrity platform, is an Israeli startup has developed an AI-based platform for writing and testing high-quality code. The firm raised $40 million in a Series A round of funding led by Susa Ventures and Square Peg. The raise brings Qodo’s total funding to date to $50 million.

Over 1 million developers have already used Qodo’s solutions, and its enterprise platform has been adopted by industry leaders including multiple Fortune 100 companies.

The AI-driven coding revolution is reshaping the software development landscape. As AI excels at code generation, developers will increasingly focus on higher-level tasks. While this shift is promising, it raises concerns about code quality and the need for robust safeguards in enterprise environments. As AI becomes more prevalent, ensuring the reliability of AI-generated code will be crucial to prevent costly errors.

Qodo is at the forefront of AI-powered software development, prioritizing code quality and reliability. Its comprehensive platform integrates seamlessly into developers’ workflows, offering intelligent code generation, testing, reviews, and documentation. This commitment to quality has driven rapid enterprise adoption, with thousands of teams worldwide relying on Qodo. The company’s impressive growth, including $1M ARR in just three months of enterprise sales and recognition from Gartner and AWS, solidifies its position as a leader in AI-augmented development.

Founded in 2022 by Itamar Friedman, CEO, and Dedy Kredo, Chief Product Officer, Qodo is a quality-first generative AI coding platform that helps developers write, test, and review code within IDE and Git. It offers automated code reviews, contextual suggestions, and comprehensive test generation, ensuring robust, reliable software. Seamless integration maintains high standards of code quality and integrity throughout development.

“As we shift towards AI-native code development, success won’t come from rushing to automate everything,” said Itamar Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Qodo. “Instead, we need to carefully integrate AI tools to enhance human expertise, focusing on quality and adaptability rather than just speed. Through comprehensive testing and reviewing, embedded into each stage of the software development lifecycle, we will be able to rely on AI agents as an integral part of the team, dramatically reducing fear of bugs or hallucinations.”

Qodo’s traction comes on the heels of the release of its enterprise code integrity platform earlier this year. Central to Qodo’s enterprise solution is its advanced code analysis and indexing, using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques that enable context-aware code generation, testing and reviewing. Additionally, a dynamic best practices database enables adherence to each organization’s specific coding standards.
