Scarlett Johansson, who was once nominated for two Academy Awards in the same year, and Oscar winner Michael Douglas, are related. Well, at least they are very distant cousins.
Douglas found this out when appearing on the show “Finding Your Roots” with Henry Louis Gates Jr. The program tells people about their ancestry based on their DNA.

Michael Douglas’ father the actor Kirk Douglas was Jewish and Scarlett Johansson’s mother is Jewish. So, it is not surprising that they are distant cousins.
Michael Douglas was thrilled by the news saying, “Are you kidding? Oh, that’s amazing. All right. This is cool. This is so cool.”
“That’s incredible. Well, I look forward to seeing Scarlett next time,” he added.
The revelation came just a few years ago after another celebrity, Andy Cohen, found out on the same show that he is also related to Scarlett Johannsson.
Believe it or not, Michael Douglas can next be seen portraying American founding father Benjamin Franklin in a new television mini-series called “Franklin,” premiering Friday on Apple TV. Yes, someone did think it made sense to cast him as Benjamin Franklin.
Michael Douglas won the best actor Oscar for his performance in the 1987 movie “Wall Street” and another Oscar for producing the best film of 1976 “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
As for Scarlet Johannsson, the Hollywood Reporter reported that she will appear in an unspecified role in Universal’s new Jurassic World movie, the fourth in that series and the 7th movie overall since Stephen Spielberg’s Jurassic Park was first released back in 1993. The new movie is expected to be a “reboot.” This is when a studio keeps a franchise alive by bringing in a new cast and starting over. This was done with the Batman Franchise in the movie “Batman Begins” and even with Start Trek and James Bond movies.
Meanwhile ScreenRant reported that this could delay the anticipated Tower of Terror adaptation from Disney indefinitely. The project is yet another based on a ride from Disneyland.
Scarlett Johannsson can next be seen – at least heard – voicing Anita Pallenberg in the documentary “Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg,” about the actress and singer.
Scarlett Ingrid Johansson is an accomplished American actress who had her breakout role in the 2003 movie” Lost in Translation” and became a global sensation for her portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Beyond the action-packed world of superheroes, Johansson has delivered powerful performances in a wide range of genres. Films like Marriage Story (2019) and Jojo Rabbit (2019) earned her nominations for two Academy Awards.
