Tensions between President Joe Biden and the Israeli leadership seem to increasing. The latest example of this came as Speaker of the Knesset – Israel’s Parliament – Amir Ohana, while visiting the U.S., made some harsh criticisms of President Biden in an interview with the New York Post.

The visit comes as reports circulate that President Biden is unhappy with Israel’s conduct of the ongoing Iron Swords War in Gaza Israel is waging against the terrorist group Hamas and as a ceasefire plan that would have seen the release of more than 100 Israeli hostages still held in Gaza failed to win approval from both sides.

President Biden is said to be stuck between “a rock and a hard place” when it comes to Israel. He is truly supportive of Israel’s fight against Hamas and cannot seem to be week on fighting terrorism. But the people on the left-wing of his party are not happy with this support and want him to make Israel end its campaign in Gaza.

In order to show that he is not soft on the issue of how Israel treats Palestinians, President Biden recently ordered the freezing of bank funds belonging to Israel’s who the U.S. says committed “acts of terrorism” against Palestinians in the West Bank. Israeli banks were forced to comply with the U.S. and froze even local Israeli accounts. It is this act that really angered Amir Ohana.

“I think it doesn’t help anyone to think that Israel does not deal with this problem [of Israeli who harm Palestinians],” Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana told the New York Post. “There is a very small minority that acts in a criminal way which harms Israel and which we deal with through our law enforcement authorities.”

Amir Ohana the concept of a two-state solution for the conflict calling it a “So called solution,” telling the New York Post, “I don’t think this is a solution.”

During his trip Amir Ohana has met with the most important politicians in New York State. This included the state’s governor Kathy Hochul, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York’s Senior Senator Charles Schumer, a democrat who serves as the majority leader in the U.S. Senate.

Amir Ohana also met with the republican congresswoman from upstate New York Elise Stefanik, who, at just 39 years of age, is being touted as a likely running mate for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential elections.

Ohana also met with the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson, Republican from Louisiana, and other Congressional leaders.
