Bill Ackman, the billionaire activist investor who runs Pershing Square Capital, said yet again that he thinks Joe Biden should not seek reelection this year as President of the United States. But it’s kind of late for there to be a change now.
In an interview with CNBC’s “Squawkbox,” Bill Ackman said “So one, I’ve always been a centrist, always believed in supporting whoever is best for the country — Republican, independent, Democrat. I think it’s really important that Biden steps aside.”
The reason – Joe Biden’s Age.

“Just on the age,” he said, “past his prime issue, I think a good part of the reason why we have what’s going on in the world geopolitically is he’s perceived as a weak president. And he will be even weaker.”
Bill Ackman made similar comments last November. At that time Ackman cited what he said was a growing sentiment in the country that the “global disarray” that we are witnessing, such as the conflict in Gaza, resulted from a “perception of weakness in the White House.”
“We are in an extremely unstable, high-risk world,” said Bill Ackman. “The job of the president is a high-stress, contact sport that requires extraordinary judgment, leadership, and indefatigable energy. You need to be at your mental and physical prime to succeed. Unfortunately, Biden is falling fast and often.”
“You need to be at your intellectual best. And I don’t think Biden is there,” Bill Ackman also said about Joe Biden. “I don’t say that, you know, with any derision of the president. But I think he’s clearly past his physical and cognitive peak.”
Ironically, Joe Biden is running against someone who never had an “intellectual best,” nor an intellect. It looks like Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee again and no one has ever accused him of being fully in touch with reality.
President Biden, as of now, has no real competition for renomination as the candidate of the Democratic Party for President of the United States. And the door is closing for anyone to step in and run in the primaries that begin in just a few months.
