The IDF reported that forces from its Paratroopers Brigade, together with the Armored Corps, Engineering Corps and the Israeli Air Force, operated in the Sheikh Ijlin and Rimal areas Sunday in order to identify and destroy Hamas infrastructure and assets.
During the operations, the soldiers located approximately 35 tunnel shafts as well as a large number of weapons and eliminated terrorists.
Additionally, the forces operated in a Hamas military base belonging to their military intelligence unit.

Also, IDF forces located ammunition depots and seven rocket launchers. Embedded in the Rimal area are the residences of senior Hamas officials, who took control of the buildings in the area to conduct and direct terrorist activities.
In the north of Israel, in response to rocket launches from Lebanon at Israeli territory made over the las 24 hours, IDF fighter jets struck Hezbollah terrorist targets in Lebanese territory earlier today.
The targets included a Hezbollah military compound, a military post and infrastructure used for directing terrorist activity.
The IDF said that it also launched interceptors toward a suspicious target in Lebanon.
IDF forces revealed what it described as a “significant” 55-meter-long (180 feet) terrorist tunnel, 10 meters (33 feet) underneath the Shifa Hospital complex during an intelligence-based operation. The tunnel entrance contains various defense mechanisms, such as a blast-proof door and a firing hole, in an attempt by Hamas to block Israeli forces from entering.
This, said the IDF, is more proof what it has been telling the world for weeks about Hamas’ cynical use of the residents of the Gaza and patients of Shifa Hospital as human shields.
IDF troops also operated in the residences of senior Hamas officials.
The residences-turned terrorist strongholds were embedded within civilian buildings in the Rimal neighborhood.
This is yet another instance of Hamas’ disregard for civilian lives.
And in a somber note, the remains of a 12-year-old girl Liel Hetzroni who was burned alive during the barbaric Hamas attack of October 7 were found and identified. She was murdered, together with her twin brother Yanai and their 73-year-old great-aunt Ayala, in the attack on Kibbutz Be’eri
