The Hamas terrorist organization used Gaza hospitals not only as bases of operation and to store munitions, it also held some of the more than 240 Israeli hostages taken on October 7 in them. On Monday night the IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari released footage that showed evidence to that effect from the basement of Rantisi Hospital in Gaza.
Located in the north of Gaza City, Rantisi Hospital offers the area’s only pediatric service like cancer treatments for children, and yet Hamas used the hospital’s resources, such as electricity, for its terror tunnels.
Daniel Hagari held a press conference in English for the foreign Press in which he provided images that prove how Hamas prepared rooms in the basement of Rantisi Hospital in Gaza City for holding the Israeli hostages. They even installed improvised toilets.

There was an image of a baby’s toy and bottle that belonged to an Israeli hostage. Babies and children were held in the basement of the hospital in what Hagari called a war crime.
Hagari showed footage of himself inside a Hamas command center that was located in the basement as well, along with piles of weapons and explosives that were left behind. Storing explosives in the basement of a hospital endangers the safety of all of its patients and workers as they could be ignited accidentally at any time.
The IDF spokesman showed how Hamas used the hospital’s resources, including electricity, over the weeks since the start of the fighting to maintain its forces hidden in tunnels. This is as the Gaza medical workers blamed Israel for their running out of such resources.
Parts of the hospital meant for the treatment of children suffering from illnesses like cancer were turned into weapons storage facilities by Hamas.
The press conference came after the IDF forces earlier on Monday killed 21 terrorists who fired on them while using the Al Quds Hospital in Gaza as a base.
It also came after Israel was falsely accused of denying relief supplies from reaching Gaza hospitals. The truth was Hamas terrorists fired upon them as they brought in the supplies.
And videos have shown Hamas terrorists taking for themselves supplies brought to the hospital, including fuel, as relief workers on the ground continue to blame Israel for being unable to adequately treat patients in hospitals.
