Bill Ackman, the billionaire activist investor who runs Pershing Square Capital, is now pushing for the banning of the popular social media platform TikTik because of how the video sharing service has allowed pro-Hamas propaganda to proliferate. Ackman has also been vocal in his condemnation of America’s elite universities for failing to censure pro-Hamas activities on their campuses after the terrorist group’s barbaric attack on innocent Israeli civilians on October 7.
“The world is quickly moving to a very dark place,” Bill Ackman wrote on Twitter. “Social media has been amplifying the hate for a decade as algorithms wind us up.”

“51% of the TikTok generation say that Hamas’ barbaric acts are justified,” he said, accusing the company of “massively manipulating public opinion.”
“Compare the generational differences on support for Hamas. 51% of the TikTok generation say that Hamas’ barbaric acts are justified,” added Bill Ackman.
Bill Ackman also went after all social media, not just TikTok, saying that Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok must fix the algorithms they use for selecting content provided to their users so that” we are able to find common ground. And yes, TikTok should probably be banned.
In a jab at the fact that TikTok is owned by a Chinese firms he also said, “A foreign government should not be in control of the minds of our next generation of leaders. “
In this respect, Bill Ackman is in agreement with numerous American politicians who have been making similar arguments against TikTok in recent years.
“If we don’t fix this soon, humanity is on a rapid path to oblivion, and it will be too late,” he declared.
On the ongoing problem with Hamas supporters threatening and bullying Jews on America’s college campuses, Bill Ackman commented, “When the leaders of our most prestigious universities and their faculty fail to condemn the most heinous and barbaric terrorism, and to make matters worse they ‘contextualize’ it, this opens the door for hate speech, incitement to violence, antisemitism, and Islamophobia.”
“When students are threatened and/or violently attacked on campus and this behavior is not immediately condemned with real consequences for the bad actors, it opens the door for greater threats and more violence.”
Ackman also called himself “pro-Palestinian,” acknowledging that some might be surprised by this due his recent advocacy on behalf of Israel.
“I am anti-terrorist, not anti-Palestinian,” Bill Ackman declared. “It is not inconsistent to be pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian.”
Ackman said he has invested millions in helping promote Palestinian economic development and peaceful coexistence over the years and blamed the crisis in Gaza on Hamas.
“Rather than building the Singapore of the Middle East over the last 18 years,” he said, “Hamas diverted funding to build tunnels, rockets and munitions to wage terror and war in an effort to eliminate Israel and kill Jews.”
“Hamas is in the business of terrorism,” said Bill Ackman. “Hamas makes money with grift, corruption, and funding from Israel’s enemies who support Hamas to achieve their own anti-Israel objectives. Hamas and those that support it don’t care about the Palestinians.”
Hamas does not care about the Palestinian people,” he added. “Hamas knew with certainty how Israel would respond to the torture, rape, beheading, and slaughter of Israeli women, children, seniors and infants on Oct. 7th.”
“Israel has no choice but to destroy Hamas,” declared Bill Ackman.
