Protesters in New York projected an anti-Netanyahu message on the UN building in anticipation of the Prime Minister’s visit to the United Nations General Assembly next week. The statement reads, “DON’T BELIEVE CRIME MINISTER NETANYAHU – PROTECT ISRAELI DEMOCRACY.”

It was the first time a protest performance had been projected on the UN building. The protest organizers said that the projection was “just a small taste of what awaits the accused Netanyahu during his visit to New York.” They vowed to “wait for him in the air, on land, and at sea” and said that “the whole world will know that Netanyahu is a liar.”

The UN headquarters condemned the demonstrators’ behavior but said it was out of their control. “We are focused on security issues in the streets outside the building,” a spokesperson said. “In the past, when we have approached the NYPD about such screenings, they have handled the matter responsibly.”

Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden next week, but it is unclear whether the meeting will occur in the Oval Office. Biden has not yet invited Netanyahu to the White House, and it is possible that the meeting will take place in a side room at the UN General Assembly or in a hotel in New York.

Netanyahu is also scheduled to meet with leaders in artificial intelligence in California before his speech at the UN General Assembly. His speech is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 22nd at 9:15 AM (ET).

The protest against Netanyahu comes amid growing criticism of his government’s efforts to weaken the judiciary. Netanyahu is currently on trial for corruption charges, and his opponents accuse him of trying to stack the courts in his favor.

The protest also signifies the growing rift between Netanyahu and the Biden administration. Biden has been critical of Netanyahu’s handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the two leaders have clashed over a number of other issues.

It remains to be seen whether the protest will have any impact on Netanyahu’s visit to the United States next week. However, the protesters are determined to make their voices heard.
