Adaptive Shield, an Israeli cybersecurity startup providing SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) services, is getting $10 million in investment from Stephen Schwarzman’s Blackstone private equity firm. Meanwhile, fellow Israeli startup Brevel, which develops microalgae-based alternative protein, completed a Seed funding round of $18.5 million.
Founded in 2017 by three brothers Yonatan (CEO), Matan (COO), and Ido (CTO) Golan, Brevel says that it provides sustainable protein for a better future on this planet and boasts that the firm’s “unique” microalgae based protein is flavor and color neutral, has a full amino-acid profile, is highly functional and is affordable for the food industry.
Brevel says that its alternative protein is a high-quality ingredient that can “seamlessly blend” into any end product, making them more sustainable whilst allowing clients to diversify their protein sources.

“This substantial funding round will fuel Brevel’s journey forward and pave the way for our vision of sustainable nutrition for the future of our planet to materialize,” said Yonatan Golan, CEO and Co-Founder of Brevel. “We are primed and ready for our next major leap – the global scale production of Brevel’s protein that will be integrated into healthier, tastier, and environmentally-friendly food products in every household.”
Founded at the end of 2019 by Maor Bin and Jony Shlomoff Adaptive Shield says that its SaaS Security Posture Management Suite (SSPM) removes the burden and risk of SaaS misconfigurations by providing “deep visibility and remediation for potential risks caused by misconfigurations and misappropriated privileges.” In September, SSPM was named one of the “4 Must-Have Technologies That Made the Gartner Hype Cycle for Cloud Security, 2021.”
Adaptive Shield explains that even though SaaS providers have been improving their native security capabilities and controls, each has its own security model and settings. This makes maintaining a consistent policy across platforms, business units and user groups an uphill battle.
“Blackstone’s investment demonstrates its success with our offering and underscores Adaptive Shield’s innovative capabilities as the only SaaS security platform to integrate with more than 130 applications that covers an expansive SaaS attack surface,” said Maor Bin, co-founder and CEO at Adaptive Shield. “With Blackstone’s support, we will continue our trajectory for growth and expansion while keeping up with the constantly evolving threats.”
