Mark Zuckerberg is so high on artificial intelligence (A.I.) that he now wants to see it integrated into all of Meta/Facebook platforms. But the hitch is Zuckerberg has a lot of catching up to do as companies like Sam Altman’s OpenAI have a huge head start with new programs like ChatGTP. Zuckerberg also shared his thoughts on Apple’s new virtual headgear that will certainly give Facebook’s Oculus a run for its money.
The Facebook founder needed to allay concerns of his company’s massive workforce after he made thousands of job cuts in recent months. To that end, Mark Zuckerberg spoke to Meta/Facebook employees recently about his plans for the near future.
“I want us to use this period that’s going to be a bit more stable in order to evolve and rebuild our culture,” he told them reported the New York Times.

On A.I., Mark Zuckerberg said, “Democratizing access to this has a bunch of value. But it’s also aligned with the product vision of enabling a lot of different A.I.’s instead of just trying to consolidate this ourselves into one singular A.I. that’s going to try to rule everything.”
Zuckerberg is planning on copying ChatGPT. He said that new features based on it will modify user photos via text prompts on Instagram and create emoji stickers for messaging services such as WhatsApp. But Marck Zuckerberg did not specify how exactly Meta/Facebook intends to catch up with OpenAI, or if he plans to use another firm’s tech in some way.
On Apple’s new mixed reality headset, Mark Zuckerberg took a jab at its $3,500 price tag saying, “We innovate to make sure that our products are as accessible and affordable to everyone as possible, and that is a core part of what we do.”
Zuckerberg also explained why he thinks the Meta/Facebook offerings are better than Apple’s saying, “Our device (Facebook’s Quest VR headset line) is also about being active and doing things. By contrast, every demo that [Apple] showed was a person sitting on a couch by themselves. I mean, that could be the vision of the future of computing, but like, it’s not the one that I want.”
Mark Zuckerberg is optimistic about the future of Meta/Facebook saying in a statement, “We’re going to play an important and unique role in bringing these capabilities to billions of people, and in the process, it’s going to touch every product we make.”
