The movie tells the story of famous actress Julia Roth (Andie McDowell) who goes incognito to seek treatment for a medical issue. While staying at the hospital, she meets three “unique and remarkable women” — an aging rocker, a young mother, and a forever single retired schoolteacher. Together, they help her face adversity with humor and camaraderie while coaching her for the most challenging role she’s ever played — herself.
Sharon Maymon is the film’s director. Maymon co-wrote the Israel film Flint that won an Oscar for best live action short.
Rona Tamir may have been born in Brooklyn, but she is really well known in Israel having written for some of the country’s most popular comedy television shows like the political satire program “Eretz Nehederet” (Wonderful country).
Miriam Margolyes (The Age of Innocence and the Harry Potter movies), British actresses Tamsin Greig and Lily Travers co-star.
Who does not love Andie McDowell? She had her break out to stardom in the 1989 film “Sex Lies and Videotape” where she co-starred opposite James Spader. That movie was directed by future Oscar winner Steven Soderbergh. She then went on to star in the romantic comedy “Green Card” and later starred with Bill Murray in the cult classic “Groundhog Day.”
But Andie Mcdowell’s most famous film has to be the 1994 surprise hit “Four Weddings and a Funeral” with Hugh Grant.
