Spera, an Israeli cybersecurity startup offering proactive protection from identity-driven threats, raised $10 million in seed funding led by YL Ventures. And Jigso, an Israeli startup that offers an AI business observability platform, came out of stealth mode with a $7.5 million raise in a Seed round of fundraising led by General Catalyst, Entrée Capital, and Jibe Ventures.
Where else in the world are you going to go for cybersecurity tech, or any security for that matter? Israel Startup Nation is a natural for cybersecurity, going back to even before its first big exit in the field, Check Point, held its IPO.
Founded by cybersecurity veterans Dor Fledel, CEO and Ariel Kadyshevitch, CTO, Spera boasts that its platform creates a real-time, continuously updated, risk and context-based inventory of identities and access across cloud and on-prem environments. This inventory is then rapidly analyzed, assessed and normalized, arming security teams with critical granular insights for remediating and preventing identity-driven attacks.

According to IBM’s Cost of a Data Breach report, identity-based attacks involving compromised credentials and phishing were the two most common and costly attack vectors of 2022. While ongoing cloud and SaaS adoption helps enterprises operate more efficiently, it also compounds existing risks and increases an already expansive attack surface. Most enterprises struggle with loosely managed identities and stale, over-privileged accounts that attackers leverage for malicious activities. Legacy Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions do not provide data-driven analysis, context and remediation of this chaos, which leads to lagging security processes and inter-organizational friction. As a result, security professionals lack the context and insights they need to build an effectively secured identity perimeter.
“Identity threat prevention is top of mind for every security team and Spera is a force multiplier for them. The platform eliminates the need to log into multiple portals or stitch together data from various teams, systems, multiple identity providers and apps,” said Spera CEO, Dor Fledel. “Spera will become the comprehensive, ‘one-stop-shop’ for streamlined Identity Security Posture Management and Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), bringing enterprises the identity confidence they deserve.”
Founded in 2022, Jigso aggregates and mines all of a user’s organization apps and data and then surfaces the information the company says they need to know and the actions they need to take.
Jigso brings together every app you use and cues the exact information you need to get the right stuff done.
So, think about that for a minute. Think about all of those apps that are now integral to anyone’s daily work. Apps are not just about games and social media anymore. They are about keeping a schedule updated, accessing databases on line and using all sorts of software as a service.
“For far too long businesses have taken a top-down approach to enterprise technology, introducing a seemingly never-ending stream of business applications, data, and processes,” said Or Shani, Jigso’s CEO and Co-founder. “The result is frustrated employees who are hampered from completing their tasks and are being drowned in unnecessary organizational noise. By bringing all of a workplace’s applications into one central space, and then deploying our slack-based AI ‘Sidekick’ we are transforming workplace platforms and empowering employees to decide what information they need to receive and when. Our vision is for every employee to have their own AI business assistant which will reduce stress, make work far simpler and more agile, and drastically increase efficiency.”
