For example, have you always wanted to visit the historic visit, or have you wanted to spend a few days snorkeling, and taking in the underwater beauty? Deciding what you want to do (even if only roughly) will allow you to create some structure for your visit.

Relax and Unwind

Even though there may be lots of things you wish to see and do in Key West, you should always remember to take time to relax and unwind. Grab a cocktail or light snack on one of the piers, take in the sunset, or visit a local bar for some live action and fun. The vibe that Key West gives off to visitors is relaxed, so be sure to immerse yourself in this as much as you can.

Go Snorkeling or Kayaking

If you fancy exploring the mangroves around Key West, then you need to plan on hiring a kayak. Moving through the narrow and shallow creeks allows you to feel a little bit closer to nature. On these guided eco-tours, you should be able to see a whole host of animals and sea creatures, from nurse sharks to tropical fish and starfish. A laid-back few hours out on the mangroves can help you see the beauty that lies within the waters of Key West. If you want to explore the water for yourself, then you may wish to take a cruise and snorkeling trip that heads somewhere such as Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson.

Visit the Historic District

If you are looking to soak up the history of Key West during your trip, then why not take a trolley trip, or even visit the Key West Shipwreck Museum? There are plenty of historic sites and buildings that you can visit and photograph during your stay. Exploring them by yourself, or with a guided tour, can help you uncover more about Key West and its history.

Visiting the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum

If you want to feel connected to the great writer Ernest Hemingway, then why not pay a visit to his home? In the 1930s Ernest Hemingway called Hemingway house his home, and you can see why he wanted to. Nestled amongst beautiful palms it is a location that can inspire almost anyone. You can tour the home by joining a guided tour, and you can visit all year round.
