Mark Cuban is not known for being enigmatic and mercurial for nothing. For example, he keeps on changing his mind about Cryptos. Lately, he is high on them again and said so in an interview with Forbes. And his Cost Plus Drug Company is also making some moves.
The billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks explained that cryptocurrencies got off to a rocky start and should be compared to any new industry in its infancy. Specifically, Mark Cuban compared them to streaming services that no one thought would succeed back when Netflix pioneered the new market.

“With crypto, it’s very analogous to that,” said Mark Cuban. “We’re in the early ‘hassle’ phases. Now the very earliest of crypto – however you want to decide the beginning, with Bitcoin or whatever – has been around 12 years. But in terms of applications with smart contracts, that’s only 2017 for the most part. And so we’re really only five years in.”
Mark Cuban went on to explain that this is why he is “still really bullish on crypto. We had some early wins, just like streaming audio with sports and news. Now with crypto you have DeFi (decentralized finance), and you have money transfer and some other applications, but you haven’t had any mainstream applications where your mom says, ‘Okay, we’ve got to get a wallet because I have to do A, B or C.’ It’s been DeFi, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and money transfer. And so it’s kind of boring right now. We’re waiting for that next round of applications, and there’s a lot of people working on them.”
Meanwhile, his Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company has added 12 new drugs to its offerings. These include Sirolimus 1mg/mL (Rapamune) (60mL Oral Solution) and Spironolactone / HCTZ 25mg-25mg (Aldactazide) (90 Tablets). The company also announced that it had cut prices on 37 of its medications.
The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company also entered into a deal with the healthcare company Rightway, integrating their two services. The relationship grants members of Rightway’s PBM direct access to all medications available through Cost Plus Drugs.
