Ari Emanuel’s Endeavor entertainment company really wants to unload the international Miss Universe competition. Endeavor is willing to part with it for just $20 million, reports the NY Post. Endeavor bought the pageant from Donald Trump in 2015.
Well, who cares? People don’t need beauty pageants anymore and not just because they are boring, pointless and sexist. In the age of social media, where countless people have become both stars and millionaires from just bouncing around half-naked on apps like Instagram and TikTok, why would anyone bother competing in a beauty contest? And who even remembers the names of the Miss Universe or Miss America competition’s anyway and how many of them went on to any sort of success or wealth?
Ari Emanuel, the high powered Hollywood agent, is, of course, the brother of former Congressman, and former White House Chief of Staff and Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel. The TV show “Entourage” had a character who was based on Emanuel.
