Steven Spielberg, the multiple Oscar winning director whose numerous movies have grossed billions at the box office, has finally made a music video. And Spielberg achieved this career milestone by using an iPhone.
This is certainly a great way for the 75 year old Steven Spielberg to cap off his illustrious career – finally making a music video. 3 Oscars pale in comparison to this. And he did it on an iPhone, proving that the director is still in touch with the latest technology and is not some old fuddy-duddy who rejects everything modern.
The music video was for the first solo project of Marcus Mumford, lead singer of British folk band Mumford & Sons.

“On Sunday 3rd July in a high school gym in New York, Steven Spielberg directed his first music video, in one shot, on his phone, Kate Capshaw was the almighty dolly grip,” Marcus Mumford revealed in an Instagram post. “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the people around me to bring this music to you, and I cannot hope to express all of my gratitude. When people get it, it blows my mind. Kate and Steven just got it, and I cannot thank them enough.”
“Thank you Kate. Thank you Kristie. Thank you Steven,” he added.
In other Steven Spielberg news, the director of “E.T.,” “Schindler’s List,” Saving Private Ryan” and so many more epic films is under fire for being a hypocrite about the environment. He is one of many Hollywood celebrities who has taken a strong stand on doing away with carbon emissions to stop the threat of global climate change. But he is also one of those Hollywood celebrities who like to jaunt around the world in private jets, which are huge polluters.
But in this case, Steven Spielberg is alleged to have used an airplane to fly across Holland, a very small country. According to the Twitter account @celebjets, Spielberg’s flight took all of 17 minutes.
