This optical swirl illusion which hides some digits has gone viral on Twitter. It is not only hypnotic. This swirl may reveal some surprising information about your own vision.
The puzzle was tweeted by @benonwine who reached thousands of Twitter fans from all over the world since it became viral, and has reached widely divergent opinions about the concealed figures. The grey and white stripes are arranged in irregular spirals, making identifying the number more difficult.
According to Mail Online, this illusion operates by manipulating contrast sensitivity, which is often considered to be a critical indicator of visual function.

Contrast sensitivity refers to the capacity to discern tiny shading and pattern variations. Contrast sensitivity is critical for identifying items with blurred edges and differentiating objects or features from their backdrop, such as the capacity to discriminate between stairs covered in patterned carpet and those that are not.
The actual hidden number contains seven digits: 3452839. Do you see it?
528. And I can see some other numbers that people have mentioned if I scroll back and forth and really try but if I hadn’t moved the image they were not visible.

45 283…and what’s the catch? Should I book an appointment with my GP?

45283? Can’t make out extreme left or right?

3452839, but to be honest the first 3 is a bit of a guess. Can’t get a fix on it. Easier to see if you jiggle the image up and down, but I don’t know why.
