The Indian Air Force (IAF) has inaugurated its new MSRAM missile defense system which was developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). MSRAM is used by the Indian Air Force, India Army, Indian Navy and Israeli Defense Forces.
A ceremony was held at the IAF Air Force Station Jaisalmer India at which the MRSAM system was formally inducted by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Secretary of Department of Defence (Research and Development) and DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy, Air Force Chief of Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Defense Chief of Staff General Bipin Rawat, Air Officer Commander-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), South Western Air Command Air Marshal Sandeep Singh and IAI President and CEO, Boaz Levy along with other senior civil and military officials.
The MRSAM was jointly developed by IAI and DRDO India. MRSAM stands for medium range surface to air missile. IAI produces it in collaboration with Israeli and Indian industries, including Rafael, TATA, BEL, L&T, BDL and many private vendors.

MRSAM is an advanced path-breaking air and missile defense system that provides ultimate protection against a variety of aerial platforms. It is used by the Indian Air Force, Army Force, Indian Navy and Israeli Defense Forces. The system includes an Advanced Phased Array Radar, Command and Control, Mobile Launchers and interceptors with advanced RF Seeker.
IAI conducted a successful test of the MRSAM system in India back in January.
