Music legend Bob Dylan has been accused of sexually grooming and abusing a 12 year old girl. The charges date back to 1965.
It seems like every day now we hear about another one of our heroes, another cultural icon, being outed as a rapist. Bill Cosby was convicted on charges of rape. Cosby drugged countless women over the years so that he could rape them.

Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York, who became a national hero when he guided his state through the Covid pandemic, was just forced to resign from office over multiple accusations of sexual assault.
Now a lawsuit over sexual molestation and rape was filed against Bob Dylan in a New York Superior court. However, it should be remembered that as of now this is just one lawsuit and the allegations in it are unproven.
The plaintiff is known only as J.C. The lawsuit was filed in accordance with the New York Child Victims Act of 2019. This act temporarily suspended the New York State statute of limitations for civil suits over allegations of the sexual abuse of minors. The temporary period ended on August 14 and the lawsuit was filed a day before that.
The now 68 year old J.C. lives in Greenwich, Connecticut. She is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.
The 81 year old Bob Dylan’s real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman.
“Bob Dylan, over a six-week period between April and May of 1965 befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff J.C. to lower her inhibitions with the object of sexually abusing her, which he did, coupled with the provision of drugs, alcohol and threats of physical violence to this day,” reads the suit.
The lawsuit further claims that “Dylan exploited his status as a musician by grooming J.C. to gain her trust and obtain control over her as part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse J.C.”
J.C.’s lawyer, Daniel Isaacs, stated that “The complaint speaks for itself. She provided a lot of detailed information regarding the time in question that leaves no doubt that she was with him in the apartment during the time in question.”
A spokesperson for Dylan told the New York Daily News that the “56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”
