His Fox News colleagues were shocked.

So now even Geraldo Rivera is attacking Israel. The former serious journalist turned daytime talk show host turned TV political talking head accused Israel of war crimes while appearing on Fox News yesterday. This probably came as a surprise to most Fox viewers since the Jewish pundit is traditionally conservative and was a big friend and supporter of Donald Trump’s

But now Geraldo sounds more like the comedian turned political pundit John Oliver. Oliver also accused Israel of war crimes on his HBO show on Sunday night.

Rivera shocked his fellow Fox News talking heads with his comments. The network is almost always supportive of Israel ad condemns the left-wing Democrats in the Congress who criticize the country.

When asked if was agreeing with the position of the Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib, someone who Fox News has dubbed part of “The Squad” for her extreme views, and who wants to block a $735-million sale of U.S. weapons to Israel, Rivera said yes. “I am indeed, Martha. People have to recognize what the Gaza Strip is,” said Geraldo. “It’s one of the most menacing places on Earth that I’ve ever reported from.”

Rivera also added, “I want our audience—the fact that the United States of America is providing Israel many of the weapons Israel is using today to kill Palestinian civilians without demanding a cease-fire, Tlaib is right. That makes us complicit in an ongoing crime against humanity.”

“Everyone and everything going into and out of Gaza is controlled by Israel. Electricity, fuel, airspace, ports, cell phone service, even who gets to farm those meager fields,” added Rivera, parroting the popular myth blaming Israel for turning Gaza into a so called “open air prison.” “It’s effectively one of the world’s largest prison camps and it is being bombed with bombs supplied by the United States. It’s outrageous that we gave Israel these hundreds of millions of dollars worth of weapons without insisting on a ceasefire now.”

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum, who was mediating the group of commentators expressing their opinions on the current fighting, tried to bring Rivera back to reality. “Israel is a tiny country surrounded by people that don’t want it to exist,” she said. “It’s impossible not to see the behind-the-scenes effort to re-enter a deal with Iran at play here.”

“I want our audience—the fact that the United States of America is providing Israel many of the weapons Israel is using today to kill Palestinian civilians without demanding a cease-fire, Tlaib is right,” insisted Rivera. “That makes us complicit in an ongoing crime against humanity.”

“They have no place to run. Where are they going to go?!” Rivera asked sarcastically. “I am saying… an Israeli F-16 going 500 miles an hour is going to kill civilians.”
