The Covid Hunter Scanner Could Detect Coronavirus Anywhere

The Covid Hunter (from video)

The Covid Hunter, which was developed by Advanced Medical Solutions International (AMSI), is said to be able to detect Coronavirus both on surfaces and in people without even making physical contact. It looks kind of like those electric no-contact thermometers that are being used everywhere to check people’s temperatures.

AMSI is working with Biologics Consulting Group, Inc. to handle the FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) submission for The COVID Hunter.

We have been waiting so long for just such a device. But will it actually work?

At first people thought that if a person was not sick then they could not be contagious. Then the world learned that even asymptomatic carriers could spread the Coronavirus with every breath. People thought that those who had been sick and recovered were not only now immune, but could not transmit the disease. Then we learned that such people could still become carriers of Covid-19 every time they came into contact with it and even get sick again.

Now we have the Coronavirus vaccines. But even those vaccinated could still be carriers. So travelers will still need to be quarantined and wear masks.

There were supposed to be instant Covid tests available at the airport for all travelers. But countries like Israel still saw a huge spike in infections once the new British mutation got out.

Well the hope here is that the Covid Hunter will allow for immediate detection of the virus in any individual. If it works all places of business and entertainment could reopen once the device becomes available. All sports arena and movie theaters will simply scan whoever enters. And the device can be upgraded with the information about other virus.

But will it work? Only time will tell.

“The handheld COVID Hunter will revolutionize the way SARS-CoV-2 (including mutated strains) is detected, slowing the spread of the deadly virus, saving lives, and returning life to ‘normal’ in the near future,” explains Donald Redman, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of AMSI.

The new device is non-invasive, non-touch, immediate, and offers portable detection of SARS-CoV-2 from up to seven feet away with 99% accuracy. It can even detect Covid through glass and other transparent materials. So a security guard, for example, could check people entering an area from behind the protection of some sort of plastic booth.

“The Covid Hunter is a non-invasive, non-contact, immediate and portable virus detector, specially designed for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes covid-19 disease, demonstrating 99% effectiveness and with sensitivity within 0 to 2 meters on surfaces, through glass or transparent material , and inside the human body.”

The Covid Hunter is a 1-piece unit with a battery charging station. It can download info on new mutation strains to detect the evolving virus and offers the user a simplistic audio/visual display. The company boasts that it can detect different parts of the virus, has seven available memory slots for future mutations and can even distinguish SARS-CoV-2 from other viruses such as influenza, norovirus and others.

The company also states that the Covid Hunter offers immediate detection of 2 internal and external components of SARS-CoV-2 (suchas RNA or spike protein) in a specific and sensitive manner; immediate detection of SARS-CoV-2 in any human sample, including nasal swabs, oral swabs, sputum, saliva, bronchoalveolar lavage (lung aspirate); immediate detection of SARS-CoV-2 inside human body (identification of peopleinfected with SARS-CoV-2 (“carriers”)) in a non-invasive manner; immediate detection of SARS-CoV-2 in air coughed or sneezed or blown out of mouth or nose of infected people into a transparent container (identification of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 AND who are infectious (transmitters of infection));

“Our American company, along with international partners, is offering a path out of this terrible public health crisis,” said Donald Redman, CEO and co-founder of AMSI.

“The COVID Hunter does not compete with vaccines. … The COVID Hunter complements vaccines,” said Dr. Adeeb Al-Zoubi, co-founder and chief scientific officer of AMSI.
