New Israeli Airship Innovations Will Change Transportation Forever

Atlas LTA develops innovative airships to offer a greener alternative to the existing transportation systems.

Capable to operate in the most difficult weather conditions

Atlas LTA, a newly established Israeli company is developing a new generation airships that will change the world of tourism and cargo transportation logistics, especially oversized cargo, and getting to rural areas for humanitarian aid. Today’s logistic difficulties are significant obstacles to those organizations’ important mission.

The company’s innovative airships offer a greener alternative to the existing transportation systems.

ATLANT 300, its biggest model, will be 200 meters in length, 100 meters in width, and 50 meters in height. This giant airship will be able to carry 165 tones to 2,000 KM, at a speed of 120 KM/h at all weather conditions, including the harsh ones.

The other two models are smaller ATLANT 30 can carry 18 tons, and ATLANT 100, can carry 60 tons.

Just imagine, for example, today’s industrial world difficulties in the transportation of large blades of wind turbines.

Those giant structures are available for offshore installation only due to the serious logistic problems in this fast-growing industry. Atlas’s airship could transport those turbines as well as help with the installation while being used as a flying crane.

Those airships do not need any ground facilities to take off or to land. They do not need expensive ground infrastructure such as air or water ports railroad systems, etc, all means of transport existing today require.

On the contrary, ATLANTs can equally reach developed and underdeveloped areas without any harm to nature, the often result of large transport infrastructure construction projects.

ATLANT will change the world of air travel as well by creating short-haul and high comfort passenger ferry flights to hard to reach destinations. Even the more futuristic, imagine luxury sky yachting that can bring exclusive travelers to the most hidden places on earth like arctic ice or small tropical islands…

Gennadiy Verba‏ CEO and Founder said the airships have a number of advantages in comparison to any aircraft and sometimes even before ground transportation.

“First, that is a low cost per ton-kilometer. But most important, much lower greenhouse gas emissions: 30-40% less than the most effective airplanes and 5-7 times less than the best heavy helicopters,” Verba said.

And that is only the beginning. “Our electric powertrain enables us to reach zero emission within the next 7-8 years, much faster than other flight vehicles of the comparable size. Capable to operate in the most difficult weather conditions ATLANT sometimes is a good alternative to land transportation by tracks, which requires ice roads open only at wintertime in countries like Russia or Canada.”

According to Verba ATLANTs can take off vertically, connecting any places point-to-point just like a helicopter or drone, but capable to carry much larger cargo too much longer distances at a way much lower cost.

ATLANT airships are expected to turn into reality in 4 to 5 years.

The first electric airship, which will take tourists to the sky is expected to realize in about 2 years.

This airship named Atlas-11 designed for 19 people (2 crew members and 17 passengers). The aerial tours on this aircraft are the most pleasant experience since the flight is uniquely stable and quiet. Its windows are large, and the seats provide first-class accommodation.

Although the Atlas-11 looks like a conventional blimp, it is an important step toward ATLANT due to the innovative electric powertrain on board.

Yaron Bul, one of the owners and in charge of the business development said: “Our sightseeing airships will make the sky tours more affordable and comfortable ever. Besides the obvious business aspects, this gorgeous aircraft will promote the important idea of the green flight.”

Atlas LTA Advanced Technology, Ltd. is located in Rosh Haayin and specialized in design and production of the Lighter-Than-Air vehicles. The company has 20 employees at this location and generates $2.44 million in sales (USD), according to BNB.
