Jamie Dimon Tells Trump to Just Give It Up Already

And Jamie Dimon is not interested in being Treasury Secretary.

Jamie Dimon has a lot to say about becoming the next US Treasury Secretary, Donald Trump’s contesting the election results and what it takes to make it in business.

The head of JPMorgan Chase made the comments when speaking at the DealBook Online Summit Wednesday, On President Trump’s false claims of election fraud Dimon said, Dimon said, “There will be a new president sworn in on January 20. We need a peaceful transition. We had an election and we have a new president. You should support that whether you like it or not because it’s based on a system of faith and trust.”

These comments may have surprised some people since Jamie Dimon had been a Trump supporter.

On the rumors that President Elect Joe Biden is considering him for the post of Secretary of the Treasury Jamie Dimon said that he has no interest in the job.  “I love what I do, and I have never coveted the job. Ever,” he said. “And some people do, and I applaud that. I love my country, so I will help anyone who has that job.”

“I want to do this job, that’s what I want to do. If I ever get a call to help, I always take those calls and try to offer my help to whoever’s secretary of Treasury, and any president, by the way,” he added.

On the current impasse over a new stimulus deal to aid people suffering from the Corona Virus recession, Dimon called on Democrats and Republicans to make a compromise.

“I know now we have this big debate. Is it $2.2 trillion, $1.5 trillion? You gotta be kidding me. I mean just split the baby and move on. This is childish behavior on the part of our politicians.”

And in a video chat with LinkedIn editor in chief Daniel Roth Jamie Dimon spoke about what makes someone successful and no it is not being the smartest person in the world. ″Humility, openness, fairness, being authentic” are the personality traits which Dimon cited as integral to success.

“Management is: Get it done, follow-up, discipline, planning, analysis, facts, facts, facts. It’s the right people in the room, kill the bureaucracy, all of these various things,” Dimon added.
