Kate Hudson is making her first foray into series television. She will be doing so as a regular on the upcoming second season of the Apple TV+ drama “Truth Be Told.”

Truth Be Told stars Oscar winning actress Octavia Spencer as a true-crime podcaster tries to solve the mystery surrounding a family patriarch’s death. Hudson will play Micah Keith, a lifestyle guru and longtime friend of Octavia Spencer’s character.

The show also stars Jewish actress Lizzie Kaplan and Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul.

Maybe Kate Hudson will help the show in the ratings if not with the critics. Rotten Tomatoes gives it all of a 31% rating.

But Truth Be Told is a huge hit for Apple TV+. It was supposed to be on for only one season, but high ratings led to an order for a season two due out next year.

Kate Hudson’s break out role was of course as rock groupie Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s hit movie from 2000 “Almost Famous.”

The actress can next be seen in the movie “Music.” In it she plays Zu, a newly sober woman who receives news that she is to become the sole guardian of her half-sister named Music, a young girl on the autism spectrum.

Meanwhile, in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Kate Hudson showed some skin on Instagram wearing pink underwear. It is part of a campaign from Kit Undergarments which will donate 5% of all sales to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
She was joined by Karlie Kloss, who converted to Judaism and is married to Jared Kushner’s brother Joshua Kushner, and other stars like Katy Perry and Dakota Fanning.
