Blog/ Donald “B.C.” Trump vs. Jon “D.C.” Tester: The Great Debate

There have been great debates in American history and Donald Trump has not been involved in even one, yet. There was Lincoln-Douglas for example. Let’s do something to change the fact that Trump has not been in a great debate.

I guess people are wondering where the “B.C.” and “D.C.” have come from. Here are some of my thoughts first.

Twenty people came forward to testify against the appointment of Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson who is no longer Trump’s physician. How can anyone get justice (and much better care that veterans deserve) in the Veterans hospitals when people in power act the way they do? Trump signed a bill to permit whistle blowing in that agency and he cannot accept real people doing just that at this moment.

And even this week information has surfaced about White House aides and vetting for loyalty. This is an important part of James Comey’s claims. I believe that this is another example of Trump’s mouth and actions putting him in his own political inferno.

Senator Jon Tester is part of our nation’s legislative body as the senator from Montana and “D.C.” is our nation’s capital. Trump has called Tester’s opposition to Trump’s nominee for the top position of the Veterans’ Administration a big lie and Trump has asked for the senator’s resignation, which he can ask for, but it essentially means nothing. Trump’s distortions or lies must be addressed by all, especially veterans who must speak out as well.
Trump you may recall came to Washington, D.C. to “drain the swamp.” He brought with him his daughter and son-in-law. You may recall that Trump brought his daughter into top level meetings and Ivanka Trump quickly was thought of as America’s First Lady.

I thought about those first meetings because it appeared to show some major insecurity in Trump who touted himself as a very smart man. Most of the debates with Hillary Clinton were not moments of political acumen, but his “yes” friends supported even the poorest debating to keep his hopes alive to attain the presidency. I thought to myself that maybe Ivanka Trump has total recall or tremendous abilities that I was not aware of.
Then I thought that maybe Trump was speeding up the process of building Ivanka’s “brand” so that she could succeed him on the throne. I read somewhere that Trump had to tell Ivanka that things were not working out as various criticisms were published of Ivanka coming from Trump’s inner circle.

There was a recent article about Trump in which it said that Israelis think of him as a “emperor” who has returned. That emperor was Cyrus II of Persia and it was Benjamin Netanyahu who started this. So now the promulgator of human rights compares to Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as that country’s capital.

As we learned about more and more falsehoods spread by Donald Trump and even worse things, I told myself that Trump, just like police across America, should be wearing a body camera wherever he goes, including the toilet. That is exactly what I hope for and I decided to call Trump “B.C.” If you thought that “B.C.” was related to Before Christ forget it. “B.C.” stands for Body Camera. And a judge could be appointed to review those discussions that are confidential or top secret and keep them from the public, but we can show the president on camera doing what he really does best, except for telling everyone what a great job he is doing. Even James Comey probably could relate to this request after what he has gone through with the memos that he has written about discussions with Trump.

Getting on to the debate makes us recall one of the great events of decades ago involving “B.J.” King and I am not referring to the great blues artist “B.B.” King. Billie Jean King whipped Bobby Riggs in the match of the century on the tennis courts, but we need that in politics as well. Lovers of the Broadway show love Hamilton, keeping in mind that Hamilton was killed by Aaron Burr. We need a “killing” in politics based on truth and the Donald Trump White House seems to have a monopoly on the opposite.

Trump in his inimitable way has asked Tester to resign. Trump’s own White House Chief of Staff lied or made up material about Congresswoman Frederica Wilson when Kelly said that the congresswoman took credit for securing F.B.I. building funds. I called for Kelly’s resignation on that, but nobody listens to me.

Trump’s partisanship even diminishes Republicans and his party is Trump. Governor Kasich of Ohio tells people that the Republican Party has left him. This is Trump’s party for the remainder of his administration or less, depending on what happens in the ongoing investigation. And Trumps false claims and misinterpretations have almost doubled, now about nine a day.

I call on Senator Tester to challenge Trump to a duel or debate and instead of just allowing Trump to ask for the resignation the American people can look forward to some other challenge. The people should also find if Trump has the courage to enter the debates without any restrictions from the White House. I look forward to the debate.

It has been reported that Trump made the announcement of Jackson before an F.B.I. background investigation was complete and that was not the first time that happened. The article that I read, written by Ashley Parker, Philip Rucker, and Josh Dawsey, also reveals that White House sources have said that it is reasonable that Trump demand “fidelity.” James Comey should read that article and he probably will. It has just been reported that there were other specific allegations of medical misconduct arising from recent care given to the wife of Vice-President Mike Pence, including a possible breach of privacy of his wife’s medical condition. And that is just another addition to the inferno that I mentioned.

Trump should be in debates with a lot of people and not just Senator Tester. Bring on the debates. That would be much better and more powerful entertainment than his tweets. It would be awesome if someone in the White House resigns.
