Leonardo DiCaprio Partner in Luxury Hotel in Israel

Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio joined as partner and investor in a new hotel that Hagag Group Real Estate Development is building via Regency at the Herzliya Marina. DiCaprio will assist in the marketing and branding of the project.

The luxury hotel designed by architect David Rockwell includes 200 suites in two six-floor buildings in the marina waterfront with a lagoon set between the buildings, and a private pool attached to some of the rooms.

The hotel will offer anchorage for yachts at the entrance, providing access by yacht from anywhere in the world. 130 of the suites will be offered for sale as time-shared vacation apartments.

According to Hagag Grope, the Hollywood actor and environmental activist will work to promote the hotel and ensure that it meets the highest environmental and hotel development standards.

The hotel will comply with the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and be certified by its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems.

The ownership structure of the hotel is 75% owned by the Hagag Group, the brothers Ahikam and Lior Cohen hold 25% and DiCaprio will dilute them all proportionately with 10% partnership.

DiCaprio will also be entitled to current payment from the management fees of the hotel and its future profits. The report shows that if the company manages the hotel or other hotels using the brand of the hotel, DiCaprio will be a partner in the management company of the hotel or other hotels and will be entitled to 20% of the subsidiary’s rights in that management company.

The agreement includes a ban on DiCaprio from operating in the residential and hotel real estate sector in Israel, as long as the agreement is in force, except for activity related to non-competitive construction solutions in Regency, the subsidiary of the Hagag Group.
