The Israeli Ministry of Transportation authorized Arkia to operate regular flights to Thailand as part of an agreement signed about a year ago. The quota that has been received is greater than the quota that was in place until now in which El Al and the Thai airlines operate. Now there is room for another Israeli carrier.
According to Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, “The appointment of Arkia as a designated carrier on the route to Bangkok was made possible following the agreement signed a year ago, according to which each country can operate up to 28 regular weekly flights without limitation on types of aircraft.”
