easyJet, Waze cofounder, invest in Israeli ski tourism Startup WeSki

Israeli startup WeSki has raised $1 million with investors including Uk low-cost carrier easyJet and Waze founder Uri Levin. WeSki is part of the WeTrip Group, which focuses on personalized tourism. In the near future, WeTrip is expected to present group vacations based on experiences such as skiing, cycling, diving, surfing, festivals and more.WeSki allows ski fans to customize their own vacations, at a cost that is on average 20% cheaper than similar packages offered by travel agents. The ski vacation is one of the biggest challenges for international tourism. Tailoring ski packages independently on the internet takes considerable time and energy.

Travel agencies offer packages rigid in terms of destinations, dates, and accommodations offered at the resort. On the other hand, tailoring ski packages independently takes considerable time and energy.

When reserving a package holiday on websites, members of the group cannot pay in installments according to their personal preference, and this prevents many groups from making reservations on the Internet.

To meet this demand, WeSki offers flexible packages, allowing surfers to pick the dates, the amount of snow guaranteed, the size of the ski area, the load of the routes, the prices and quality of the accommodation.

The website has developed a special algorithm linked to over 100 tourism suppliers. Users can easily comper and make a choice of hotel, apartment, or guest house, and even choice of hire car or private transport. The site is one of the first in the world to allow members of the group to adapt the extras individually according to their own taste, choose equipment or ski lessons, and finally pay their own share so that payment can be easily divided among the members of the group.

“As someone who for years faced great difficulties while trying to book ski vacations that would suit my needs, I dream of assisting people everywhere to easily build their personalized ski vacations,” Yotam Idan, WeSki co-founder, and CEO said in a statement. “I believe that this startup could change the way skiers book vacations.”

Founded in 2016 in Tel Aviv, WeTrip currently employs 12 people in offices in Tel Aviv and London. The startup participated in the Tel Aviv-based SigmaLabs accelerator and was recently accepted into the Founders Factory accelerator in London, through which EasyJet’s investment was facilitated.
