Shmuley Boteach, the self-promoting Rabbi to the stars, has continued his controversial defense of Steve Bannon. Boteach tweeted a picture of himself with the alt-right icon the other day.
Steve Bannon’s appointment as a senior adviser in Donald Trump’s White House has met with widespread criticism over his affiliation with the racist alt-right. Shmuley Boteach is a shameless star ****er, media whore and self-proclaimed Jewish leader who never fails to appear on TV. Without refuting his defense of Bannon, most people wonder why Boteach thinks that anyone could care less what he thinks. The Rabbi lost credibility as a Jewish religious leader with his shameless exploitative books like “Kosher Sex” whose titles were merely intended to be provocative so as to sell as many copies as possible.

Well Rabbi Boteach, while you may think that you know Steve Bannon well enough to comment, you posed for the picture at Trump Tower while you were busy with your main job — being famous. It was bad enough when we started to have lawyers becoming celebrities just for appearing on cable news channels all of the time, but now we have celebrity rabbis too. What exactly has Shmuley Boteach ever done anyway? He has never led a Jewish organization, never been a Jewish religious leader, never written any serious books, never led any protests or movements in support of Israel or against Antisemitism.
So instead of people getting upset at Shmuley Boteach for defending Steve Bannon, they should remember that he is nothing but a celebrity wannabe name dropping nobody.
