The New York Daily News says, “Steinfeld is brilliantly able to weave together a character who’s both typical and yet surprising in her multidimensional emotions that Nadine slowly works through. She’s not a cookie-cutter character.” And, “The struggles of being a kid are beautifully depicted in the film.”

Variety says, “In the savviest teen comedy in years, Hailee Steinfeld gives a star performance as a beguiling but troubled high schooler who uses her ferocious cleverness to act out her distress.”

Hailee Steinfeld is only 20 years old, but she already has more than 20 film credits under her belt. “The Edge of Seventeen” could make her the next big teen idol.
