As the likelihood of a Donald Trump presidency looms, millions of Americans are looking to move to Canada. The Canadian immigration site crashed repeatedly Tuesday as the election results began to come in.
Either Canada took their immigration site down or half of the United States just crashed the site. Whoops! #Elections2016

It may not come as a surprise that countless jokes about people fleeing the country over the election results have circulated on social media. A dating site even announced that it is dedicated to find Canadian partners to save Americans.
The site called Maple Match asks on its homepage: “Worried about life under a Trump Presidency?” It was founded by Joe Goldman, a 25 year old from Texas.
“I have always been fascinated by Canada, ” Goldman told NBC News, “So I thought to myself, ‘Given the current political situation, this could bring Canadians and Americans closer together.'”

According to The Telegraph, searches for the word “emigrate” also jumped in the United States at around the same time. Seems odd.
