Citibank Joins Roger Waters Boycott

Roger Waters- Youtube (Howard Stern)

Citibank has refuted claims that it is a sponsor of Roger Waters‘ current tour, joining other major companies like American Express. The announcement comes as a backlash to Roger Waters’ vile vocal anti-Israel comments and support of the BDS which border on anti-semitism.

The disavowal of Waters came in response to complaints made after rumors surface that the bank was in fact one of the musician’s sponsors. Roger Waters has been calling on all musicians around the world to refuse to perform in Israel.

Pink Floyd singer Roger Waters Dropped By American Express over anti-Israel views

A Citibank official statedin an e mail sent to the Algemeiner, “I want to let you know that Citi is not a sponsor of Roger Waters’ upcoming tour. Two weeks ago, Citi offered a limited time pre-sale of tickets for cardmembers for select shows, as we do for thousands of concerts by different artists every year. While advertised as the ‘official card’ for payment purposes, the pre-sale was in no way an endorsement of the artist’s personal views. The pre-sale has ended and we have no plans to work with this artist in the future.”
