So how does DayTwo get your “sample.” Uhm… well lets let you hear it from their own words:
“Once the registration process is completed, we send you an easy-to-use stool sample kit. The kit includes a small tube, toilet accessory and scoop. The stool sample will tell us all we need to know about your gut microbiome.
“You will also be asked to fill out a short questionnaire and provide us with a simple HbA1c blood test result.”
Samples are analyzed through DayTwo’s patent pending algorithm qhich the company says produces a “unique nutritional profile designed just for you.”
A study by the Weizmann Institute found that the bacterial population of the colon contributes to each person’s digestion of different foods in a unique way. Knowing what you have in your body lets you adjust your diet ti what is most healthy for you.
DayTwo was established on the basis of the study. The company also provides users with other data which promises to keep blood sugar levels balanced and reduce the negative effects that can cause hunger, weight gain, increased risk of diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, and heart disease. Users will be sent the results of laboratory tests conducted through from intestinal bacteria sampling.
According Lihi Segal, CEO of DayTwo, the company’s “recommendation on foods [is] made by adjustment of the thousands of user data foods and very surprising findings. Foods with healthier perceptions everyone like rice are found occasionally as a food that is not recommended for some people and there are cases reversed which revealed that food like ice cream is not harmful.”
The study was conducted by Professor Eran Segal and Dr. Eran Elinav Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. The company was founded by Hugh” Check Point Dr. Marius Nacht, who participated in the study and see the importance of accessibility to the results public, Yuval Ofek and Lihi Segal who bring with them experience in leading start-ups in the health sector.
