From Street Easy.com:
112 Greene Street is a 6-story co-op building in the heart of Soho between Spring and Prince Street. It features 6 apartments and a retail store on the ground floor. Full-floor apartments are approximately 2700 square feet, have east and west exposures and 13-foot ceilings. The building features a keyed elevator and allows pets and washer/dryers.
The building was home to one of the first artist-run galleries in New York in the 1970s, where everyone was welcome to create and exhibit art without censorship. It is considered the birth place of the Soho art scene. It was also once home to Greene Street Recording, a music studio where artists like Bonnie Tyler, Mos Def and the Black Eyed Peas all recorded albums.
