Angelina Jolie Files for Divorce From Brad Pitt

The couple’s split apparently arise from fight over parenting styles

After 10 years and six children, Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. The actress’s lawyer has confirmed the news.

Page Six said that Jolie claimed Pitt having an affair with co-star Marion Cotillard. While lawyer Robert Offer told BBC that the actress filed for “dissolution of marriage” on Monday, adding the “decision was made for the health of the family”.

“She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time, ” Offer added in the statement, according to the BBC.

US entertainment website TMZ reports that Jolie lists the date of separation as Sept. 15. due to”irreconcilable differences” in the divorce papers.

The American TMZ sources say that Jolie was “fed up” with Pitt’s substance abuse, including pot and booze, combined with what she saw as anger issues.

 “Jolie is seeking sole physical custody of the kids, with Pitt being granted only visitation, ” according to TMZ . A request the website calls “significant.”

It was Pitt’s second marriage, after “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston. For Jolie it was third after Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.
