The sixth season of the HBO series Game of Thrones won the best drama series for the second year in a row at Sunday night’s 2016 Emmy awards in Los Angeles. The series was up for 24 awards and took home 12. Not bad at all, even compared to the record set by the sitcom Frasier with a total of 38 Emmy awards, which is still standing.

When it was announced the series had won the award for best drama writing David Benihoff and DB Weiss took the stage to accept the award.  Weiss said: “Andrea, Leo, Hugo, you’re the reason I get up in the morning. I love you all very much.”

Benihoff couldn’t keep it together, overwhelmed by the fact that he is married to actrees Amanda Peet.

Benioff said, calling his wife by her full name “Amanda Peet, it’s our 10th anniversary in a week. Ten years of non-stop fun. I love you so much.” Then he mentioned their three children; “Henry, Frankie, Molly, I love you three so much and I’m so sorry I’m going away next week and, and I’m sorry.”
