The Islamic festival Eid al-Adha turned the streets of Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka into rivers of blood on Tuesday morning when heavy monsoon rains mixed with animal sacrifices blood.
Eid al-Adha – the Feast of Sacrifice – is the second biggest celebration of the year for Muslims. It marked by slaughtering animales and when the blood flowed into the streets, it turned them red in commemoration of God’s test of faith on the Prophet Ibrahim. The meat is shared among family, friends and the poor.
