The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) expressed concern over the distribution of fliers by The Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which included “classic Klan hateful rhetoric”.

The fliers, which were found across Syracuse and Liverpool, New York, Long Island and the Hamptons, found placed on cars, seek to recruit new members using hateful language towards African-Americans, Jews and transgender people.

One of them stated: “Wake up white America! Jews control the money in America. Period. End of Story, ” one of the fliers stated. “Zionist Jews own and run the Federal Reserve Bank.”

The fliers, which also insulted African Americans and members of the LGBTQ community, whom they called an “abomination, ” stated “Join us to stop Zionist control over your government.”

“In spite of the decline of the Ku Klux Klan groups across the country, the classic Klan hateful rhetoric found in upstate New York serves as a stark reminder that they still actively seek to disseminate their vile messages, ” said Evan R. Bernstein, ADL New York Regional Director. “While it may be quite concerning to come across such a flier in one’s own neighborhood, the reality is that few longstanding groups still exist, ” he said.

According to ADL’s Center on Extremism, there are currently 30 active Klan groups in the U.S. with about 3, 000 Klan members, according to figures in its latest report ADL identifies current trends and sheds light on the extent of their decline in stature and significance.
