Largest sale in history of sports: Michael Dell’s MSD, Ari Emanuel’s WME-IMG buy UFC for about $4 billion

Just 24 hours after the largest Mixed Martial Arts event, its 200th event, the UFC has reportedly been sold to American talent agency WME-IMG

According to American media reports, Ari Emanuel’s sports and entertainment talent agency WME-IMG has agreed to purchase UFC for about $4 billion. 200th event, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) took place in Las Vegas on Saturday.

A New York Times report the deal will be made official as soon as Monday.

 

 

“Backing the deal are the private equity heavyweights Silver Lake, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and MSD Capital, the investment firm of the billionaire Michael Dell, ” the New York Times reported.

According to TMZ Current UFC owner Dana White will “still have a major presence” as president of UFC. CEO Lorenzo Fertitta will step down.

“Although the deal has been agreed upon, we’re told the deal will take six weeks to two months for final signatures, ” TMZ reported.

ESPN reported In May, UFC was on the market. While UFC strongly denied those reports.
