The gymnastic team from Belarus edged out the Israeli team in the ribbons category by a score of 18.516 points to 18.4. The heavily favored Russian team made several mistakes in its performance and did not finish in the top three.
This team though is the most decorated in Israeli history, having won several bronze medals in a previous European championship, a silver medal in the gymnastic world championship, and a silver medal in the 2015 European Games.
After the successful showing at home, the Israeli team is headed to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August, where it will participate in the all-around competition.
