At least 15 Turkish energy firms intend to establish a consortium to receive Israeli gas, Turcas energy company CEO Batu Aksoy said Wednesday.
“We plan to establish a buyer consortium [to deliver Israeli gas to Europe via Turkey]. Each consortium member will take some gas in this plan. At least 15 companies have contacted us so far and voiced their intention to become a part of this planned consortium, ” Aksoy told the daily Hurriyet newspaper in an interview.
According to the Turkish energy company’s chief, around 8 billion cubic meters of Israeli gas could be delivered to Turkey by 2021 under this plan.
