Dell is close to a sale of its Perot Systems unit. The buyer, French IT consulting firm Atos, apparently outbid Cognizant , which was previously rumored to buy Perot from the company. According to Re/Code, Atos also outbid NTT Data.
Perot Systems specializes in providing software and systems integration solutions for healthcare, government, and manufacturing companies. Dell acquired Perot Systems for $3.9B in 2009.
Sources talking with Re/code claim Dell, privately-owned and set to acquire EMC, is seeking to raise $10 billion by selling businesses that it deems “no longer core to its business.”
